Privacy & referral details.

Sidetask is an independent readiness check for a referral campaign. It is not run by the work provider and cannot make hiring decisions.

What we store

We use a random identifier in a necessary, HttpOnly browser cookie to remember your progress and avoid allocating the same browser another referral. The cookie lasts up to 30 days. The server stores this identifier, the assigned practice questions, the start time, your final score, a short campaign tag from the URL, and whether and when a referral was released. Your self-declared current employment, role category, and other eligibility answers are processed to decide whether you can start; we do not save them. Employment is not independently verified.

We do not request names, email addresses, CVs, employer names, or payment details. We do not use advertising pixels or third-party analytics. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives ordinary network information when your browser requests them. Our hosting provider may process network information, including IP addresses, in its ordinary security and service logs.

Why we store it

The records support your result, a 24-hour gap between completed checks, and a campaign-wide allocation limit. Anonymous campaign records are retained for the campaign’s duration. Deleting your cookie removes your browser’s access to its record; it does not erase the server record or restore a referral allocation. A different browser or cleared cookies can look like a new visitor: this is not an identity-verification system.

How the referral works

A current paid computing job, self-declared role category, and a score of at least 6 out of 7, together with the other basic checks, meets our independent release threshold. This rule has not been validated against the provider’s acceptance outcomes. A qualifying result may unlock a referral if the campaign still has an allocation available. The application link is the referrer’s reusable application link; a new provider link is not generated for each visitor.

The referrer may receive a reward if you qualify under the provider’s referral terms. The provider controls those terms, acceptance, work availability, and pay. We cannot observe or promise any of them. Read the provider’s requirements, terms, and privacy information when you open the official application, before deciding to sign up.

Following the referral takes you to the provider’s official website. The provider’s terms and privacy policy govern its application. Your practice answers and score are not sent to the provider by this website.
